This blend was inspired by one of our favorite surf trips to Hawaii. We spent hours sitting on the lanai watching the waves, the warm smell of coconut wax on our surfboards mingling with the sweet scent of the guavas from the tree in front of our house. This blend is reminiscent of paradise.
The flower of the guava symbolizes life and its fruit has been a mainstay in the diets of millions of people. The delicious sweet, salmon colored flesh of the guava fruit is has a pungent sweet smell of strawberries and lemon. It is eaten both ripened, when the fruit is soft and tastes of sugar or when it is unripened and the fruit is crisp like an apple. An important and abundant fruit in the tropics, the guava is full of vitamin C, beta-carotene, lycopene and fiber. It is also employed as a natural medicine.
The pomelo, a large ancestor of the grapefruit with a sweet honey-like taste, symbolizes abundance and prosperity. The fruit has origins in the tropics of Asia.
The scent of the coconut is strongly associated with summer and the beach- think sunbathers and surf wax. Symbolically, the act of breaking open a coconut symbolizes a new beginning while the flesh is signifies unity and blessings.
